Talk me out/into this Rangey

For context, I had a P38 4.6HSE, now I have (since 2007) a Sport Supercharged which has served me well for 97k miles. And while it's lovely, I'm feeling the need for something more 'wafty' that is happy towing my twin axle caravan when required.
What are the thoughts of the collective?

Yeah, thanks for that. I hadn't noticed the two different sets of wheels. I suspect it's been de-chavved. It has a MOT fail for dodgy number plates in it's history. I do like the spec though.
Wonder why it has been debadged?
So you've checked the MOT history then? Lots of advisories a couple of years ago including an oil leak.Wonder why it has been debadged?
Also the steering wheel (leather part) is quite shiny for 84k miles. It may be right, but I'd be looking for wear and tear elsewhere.
It looks like the deployable side steps are starting to corrode. They do that. Land Rover knows they are crap and isn't interested, so you're looking at buying new blades or getting them painted. They start to look scruffy fast once they start to go.
The rear ents is nice, of you have children.
As always with Range Rovers, you go into it with the knowledge that any repairs can be ruinously expensive. I have never run one outside of LR warranty and have had some breathtakingly expensive repairs completed.
Yes, checked the history. The oil leak concerned me a bit. I will speak to the dealer tomorrow and obviously do an HPI check if I'm interested enough to take it further.
I'd spotted the steering wheel looking a bit shiny but the mileage on the MOT check seems to add up.
The badge removal might be because of chavvy badges on each end, or it might be due to accident damage. I shall ask the question. I don't mind the lack of badges. I'll also be interested in the tyres and what make they are. I've tried zooming in, but can't make them out.
The colour and spec are just what I'm looking for, just not at any price.

Check your insurance quote before buying!

I live in rural Devon on the Somerset border. I already have a Sport Supercharged. I can't imagine this will be too ruinous. If I lived in London/Home Counties though...I would ask the guys on here: https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/

As you may be aware, some people give their cars a "haircut" before each MOTOur last Range was sold at circa 92k miles and wasn't as shiny as that. But then, if it's had a lady driver who uses a lot of hand cream. and we did used to get ours valeted. The condition of other stuff will tell you.
Yes, but apart from 25k one year, it seems to have been a fair sedate accumulation. Apparently from a brief conversation this afternoon, it's been main dealer serviced and has had four previous owners. But we all know that a full service history and particularly a main dealer history, can have many different interpretations.

IIRC all servicing records are now electronic, there are no stamps in books. You'd hope it would be easy to check it our.Louis Balfour said:

Good point really. Steering wheel wear will vary wildly between owners, driving styles, usage type etc..Our last Range was sold at circa 92k miles and wasn't as shiny as that. Some people have really dry skin, oily skin, dirty skin! etc. and this will have differing effects on the wheel.

There's a reason why Land Rover themselves can't even cover them with their own policies.
...and assuming the clock is correct, they've had it hanging around since June, so they might be ready to do a deal on it.

Check it first though... The premiums aren't just limited to London.

Land Rover insurance was underwritten by LV, when the business was taken by a private equity group they decided not to reinsure existing Range Rover owners and presumably also underwrite the LR group policies. Perhaps if they should review the amount of associated business they lost as a result of not renewing insurance on vehicles that were owned by low risk and claim free clients of many years .There's a reason why Land Rover themselves can't even cover them with their own policies.

The deal was done and I pick it up next week.
The steering wheel wasn't worn, it has piano black inserts. It truly is immaculate inside, full LRSH and drives beautifully.
Very pleased. Will probably take me a day to work out all the toys.
They refurbished the wheels and replaced the door trims as it was looking 'drab' (their words) and they wanted to smarten it up. I also quite like the debadged rear end. Again done for aesthetics.

Congratulations, they are a lovely car to drive. We've got one and it's the best all-rounder.The steering wheel wasn't worn, it has piano black inserts. It truly is immaculate inside, full LRSH and drives beautifully.
