Hi all - looking to order a 2023 RR p400 mild hybrid (7 seat LWB) but there are no test units available. Diesel not an option. I6 available within a month, v8 has 7 months lead time. Hence leaning to p400.

The official 0-60 seems to suggest the car is decently quick. However was wondering if anyone has real life experience of what it is like day to day in city driving.. Does it feel sluggish or is the p400 sufficient?

Some reviews suggest there is not a huge difference vs v8, others say it is underpowered and you need to basically floor it to get it going.

All honest thoughts welcome!

Thanks in advance!

O.

Can you find a P400 L405 to test drive ?

I'd have thought that would be close enough to give you a reasonable idea.....

I've owned a P400 Sport, loads of very smooth power although fuel consumption pretty high. Never more than 26mpg from a full tank and 22mpg pretty common.

I already have sports cars. But I also have kids. So as a family hack I'd like to have something with the least amount of compromise... I'd like the space but not overly sacrifice performance.

I previously had a 2.0 si4 Discovery Sport and thought it was awful for performance... It was very lathergic off the mark; laggy and generally not so responsive under 50.

I don't want to repeat the error. Especially since the RR is about gbp550k here.

Unfortunately we don't get the Tesla X 6 seater here. If we did, it'd be a no brainer for the family daily. Current a V6 Alphard does the duties but it's a few years old now.
