Hi all.

I’m in the middle of a restoration project of a late Portuguese-spec 2-door Range Rover. Been down to the bare shell, hot zinc sprayed and repainted. Chassis is now galvanised and am onto the reassembly.

I’ll be bringing her up to a RHD period parts-bin sporty spec - so the finished article will be somewhere between a CSK and an Overfinch 460i.

Now I need seats. Noticed that the overfinch models used recaros, and I’d like to identify the model of Recaro seat used (as well as likely donors) by Overfinch before I have the interior re trimmed.

Can anyone ID the seat model(s) and donor of the seats shown in the Overfinch (and Schuler) marketing material? (Links to images below)

Recaro LS / LX. Used in fast Fords and the like. I think Recaro still make a “classic” reissue of them but with solid headrest rather than fishnet.

Don't forget you'll need the ability to tilt the front seats in a two door to allow access to the rear. Both the images appear to be four door RRs so the seats might not have this feature.
/Not an expert in Recaros or how they're mounted in RRs/

If the seats are solid maybe you could "bodge" it, set it up like the old minis? (might be another old car from that era I am thinking of) so the front edge of the seat is hinged on the floor so the squab and backrest all lift/tilt up together

They look like the Speclaist range of Recaro to me, but I'm not sure what the differance between the specalist and the Classic Lx / LS is.
Maybe ask some of the sellers of Recaro seats if thye can identify them for you

I'd say LX, due to the side bolsters being set lower than the LS.

However, I can't see any with the 'open' headrest.

The other alternatives would be something from the Orthoped/Ergomed/Expert/Specialist range.

Capri recaro's should do the job and will tilt and you can probably retro fit the fishnet headrests from a Mk2 escort

You'll also have to fit seatbelt mounts in the B-pillar as, IIRC, the belts on the 2-door mount to the seat

A friend had an RR with Recaros in the 80s. They worked really well. Getting in & out was a little more difficult due to the bolsters but it was definitely not a deal-breaker
