New Range Rover - about to order
Discussion
I've been looking for a replacement for the Etron which is on business contract hire until December 2023, and was either going to go with the new Etron, or jump ship to a Range Rover.
I've had a liking for the Range Rovers for some time but never owned one. I've spec'd up a D350 HSE, and to be honest there doesn't appear to the plethora of options certain other manufacturers have, so seemed relatively easy. I'm torn between black or white leather (I want white, the other half doesnt). It will be a black car, 23" alloys, with shadow pack.
The 350 engine seems to be the one most people I have seen recommend. Am I missing anything else which are 'necessities' ? I don't tow anything, its literally for day to day driving.

Is it as your company car? If so the jump in BIK will be massive!
If not towing how about the PHEV versions? I doubt you will get one anywhere near December so you’d have to have an interim car of some sort.
I run the Etron through my own company, but the Range Rover would not be, for obvious reasons as you mention. Its only this really that had me considering another Etron (or similar) but even the monthly payments on them has gone through the roof, so I'm now of the opinion I may as get what I want rather than what makes financial sense, since the difference is negligable. If not towing how about the PHEV versions? Appreciate an interim car may be necessary, but assume waiting lists will drop as interest rates rise, and people potentially reign in spend on such luxuries. Worst case though I have to get something short term.

Speaking with the local dealer they were of the opinion that I'd be getting the car in 2023, and potentially before that as a number of cancelled orders are coming through (albeit spec'd by others).
I don't want it until December 2023, so works well for me just waiting for a my spec.
That sounds like the standard answer that the dealer will give to get the order. I could be wrong but when their own website states 12+ months and reading peoples waiting times on here I think the dealer is being optimistic.I don't want it until December 2023, so works well for me just waiting for a my spec.
Yes, you could pick up a cancelled order one I guess.
Ordered it today. Yes, the 2023 delivery was seemingley a tad ambitious Looking at 18 months in reality, although they confirmed they are seeing a considerable increase in cancellations, so still potential there for it to be late 2023/early 2024 which works well.
Gone for;
D350 HSE
Santorini Black
Ebony leather (although may change with to Perlino if I can convince the other half)
Privacy glass
Pre-conditioning
22" style 1073 diamond turned alloys
Shadow pack
Sliding panoramic sunroof
grand black veneer
Wanted to order the domestic plug socket as well, but told its not possible at the moment (but may change in time)

Great choice! D350 is a fantastic engine, I drove an L460 with it down to Goodwood last summer and it really suits the cars character. I picked up a more modest Carpathian grey 2023 Discovery Sport D200 HSE Dynamic last week, which I’m really enjoying. I have a bit to go before I get to an L460 😄!
I need no convincing about the lighter leather. Its the other half, as she is convinced it would be trashed within weeks/months with our 3 kids.
I'm sure these days its much easier to look about the lighter colours, whether that be through cleaning/treatment products (such as Gliptone which I have used for years on the Porsche's), or even ceramic coating of leather which seems to be a recent thing.

I have used super-guard leather barrier cream on all my light trim cars for the past 20 years Plus, including Ferrari's with Mag leather that did over 40k miles as daily s, 2 coats lasts about 6-9 Months any marks just sit on the surface of the leather and wipe off with a damp cloth or warm soapy water.
