Just to make you all aware that if you have ordered an Autobiography version of the Full Fat RR or Range Rover Sport than JLR have decided to slyly downgrade the sound system in your car from an 800w Surround Sound Meridian to the Standard 400 watt system that was only previously used on the SE and HSE models!

There has been no announcement of this but it's due to the ongoing wiring loom issues (wiring looms come from Ukraine).

All cars now coming through or ordered have been downgraded. This is a saving for over £4k for JLR and is a bit ridiculous as they are not reducing the price of the car to take this cost cut in to consideration.

I only realised this after taking delivery and Im sure many others have also found this out in the same way or may have not noticed.

Very poor from JLR. The least they could do is to be transparant and then let the customer decide if they want to proceed with their order or delivery!

I had a letter from Rawdon Glover on 3/10/22 telling me this and saying the choice was mine whether to wait or accept the lower spec.

Out of interest, did they at how long the wait would be to get the proper spec?

I was expecting the Meridian 34 Speaker 1600w Signature system on my Dec 22 build 350D Autobiography, this was standard at the time of ordering. A week before build it was downgraded to the 800w18 speaker 3D System due to lack Amps for the Signature set up, that is now being saved for SV cars only. I received 1250.00 Discount from list in view of this downgrade, very happy with the 800w 18 Speaker 3D System that has now replaced the Signature set up on the big Range Rover Autobiography. On the Sport note on all models its now the lesser 400w system but with 15 Speakers, that are slightly different quality sound wise on the Autobiography.

All above is on the RR Web page for each model.

Thanks. That’s useful to know, I think we’ll leave it a while longer before looking at ordering one.

I was informed that the option was being downgraded via email also back in Octoberish; due to colour and model car still hasn't got a build date anyways.

I had a SV for a week back in December and I can honestly say I noticed no discernible difference between it and the 800W 3D system in my First Edition Sport.

I also have a diesel Autobiography build date for early March and that has been confirmed as having the 3D system.

Initially dissappointed, but after going between both systems I am happy with the reduced price over perceived 'better equipment'.

I know what you mean about the difference in sound quality for the Signature system to the 3D one, the extra 800w amps and speakers did make a bit a difference but nothing that I feel short changed over, though with the Signature set up you do get the noise cancelling speakers in the head rests.
