JLR mac adress and imei

does anyone know if the mac adress and imei in the connection settings is for the telematics or the sim card you put in

Eh???

Now I'm not totally sure what you were trying to ask but... Both the MAC & IMEI should be unique, as would the SIM number & IMSI.

Sorry question may not be clear.

In the settings menu in the infotainment on new JLR vehicals

Under connection settings , there is a option which shows the imei and mac address .

I wanted to know whether this is for the sim in the telematics box or for the sim you put in the car for live satnav etc.

Mine is currently showing blank and I'm just trying to troubleshoot

TBH - If this is new... Take it back to the dealer and let them troubleshoot.
