Warranty Recommendations?

I usually buy my cars from main dealers and then continue the used approved warranty for the rest of the time I have the car but I’m currently looking at RRS’s from non approved dealerships and have been looking at third party warranties.

I’ve been looking at warranty wise and I’m a little confused. Firstly why can you choose different labour rates, I’d have thought the whole point of a warranty is that you don’t pay for repairs?

Secondly the price given for an SVR was £1300/year and it didn’t appear to be as inclusive as a used approved JLR yet the price seems a bit steep.

What warranties do other members use and how good are they compared to used approved ones?
