RR Autobiography spec downgraded before delivery…

Hey guys any advice on this one?

I have been waiting over a year for delivery of a new Range Rover autobiography.. the main difference between the SE and the autobiography is the meridian signature sound with noise cancelling etc..

Basically it’s finally due to arrive mid December.. I was saying to the salesman how relieved I was it was finally coming and that I felt lucky, even after continual delays and the vehicle being unslotted multiple times, because of the shortage of semi conductors and meridian not being able to oroduce enough speakers etc..

The salesman says ah yes i should mention yours has been downgraded, so won’t have the signature audio..

I was speechless.. after being patient and understanding through out this disastrous process.. this felt like an absolute gut punch.

The price has gone up about 5k since I originally ordered and now to drop what looks to be around 4k extra..

Has this happened to anyone else?! I basically said I didn’t want it and was happy to wait for the car I actually ordered and they said it wasn’t possible.. it’s this car or it’s back to square one (18-24 month wait for a new order)

Can’t the upgraded parts and speakers be retrofitted when they become available?

Probably something in the T&C's that says they can change the spec without prior warning.

It's a different world but Dacia dropped wireless Carplay/AA about the same time they introduced a price rise. Most of the existing orders were not informed just told that's the way it is.

Urgh... That's crap.

If it was me, unless I could be significantly compensated, I'd have to say "no". Everytime I sat in the car, I'd be reminded it wasn't the car I wanted / ordered.

However, ultimately you have to live with it, it's your money and your decision...

Some of the Meridian speakers are placed in the back of the front seats, so a factory fitment I'd imagine.

Same on a defender. Could no longer provide it with Meridian surround and clear sight mirror.
Seems farcical that semi conductor supply is still so far below demand.

I had the same issue and told them to fk off. They advertised the car as a used car £35k overs and it sold in a day. Take it, sell it make profit before they do!

Accept the car and sell it for over list instantly! You make 20k that way to soften the disappointment!

I wish they would just put it on hold until they can build what i ordered.. I can't see the clear sight camera on the spec sheet either so I assume thats gone also..
