Soft close doors
Discussion
Another well discussed subject but I have yet to hear a definitive answer.
I do realise that it could be a range of reasons though in this case it doesn't appear to be a switch problem.
My situation is that all doors apart from drivers door close softly as they should.
If my memory serves me correctly, there was an article....somewhere.... that said that at some point (?) the factory were releasing these cars with the drivers door soft close disabled. The dealerships were then supposed to access a cable in the spare wheel well and re-connect it, making the soft close work on all doors before hand over to the customer.
This last statements only taken from the murky depths of my memory bank though!
Can anyone on here confirm what I recall?

That procedure does ring a bell, but no specifics unfortunately.
Helpful, huh?
No worries but thanks for the response.Helpful, huh?
I'm still doing a bit of checking around and if I find the article/forum answer I'll pass it on.
Apparently, it's not an uncommon fault around the 2016 range of L405's.
Just done a bit of digging and it might be a failed motor:

Judging by the last comment, it sounds as though it's not uncommon.
There is a tech builtin regarding soft close while the vehicle is in 'transit mode' but that's more about getting into the car if the close sequence got cocked up.
