Question about Freelander Warning Light?

Fairly often recently when I drive the Freelander, the orange hill descent mode warning light and an exclamation mark illuminates on the dash. It stays on a while and then dissappears. I can't place what exactly causes it to come on in the first place, or dissappear.

I'm mainly doing fairly short journeys with lots of gentle braking. Handbook says check with dealer.

Anyone have any ideas as to what's afoot or what I might expect them to say? Its still under warranty.

I'm guessing it's tied in with the ABS system, as that controls the Hill descent.

At least it's under warranty, it's their problem.

Still I thought that with my S2 Disco and had to give thedealer and customer services regular verbal lashings.
