Velar / F-Pace D200
Discussion
Has anyone got an experience of either of the above with the D200 engine?
I'm trying to spec one of these up without it costing the earth and the base engine seems a good place to start. I don't need loads of pace but I wouldn't want it to be irritatingly slow.
Would also be interested to know whether it suffers from well-publicised Ingenium diesel issues, or whether JLR has sorted that out now.
Very little written on either on the interweb, as far as I can tell.
Many thanks!

I know quite a few people who have the D180 Velar that it was previously and have driven a defender with the D200 and not heard any complaints yet.
It's not quick as it's such a big car but enough for daily use. You should be able to get a test drive with Land Rover, they're usually quite good.

I’ve just got a 22MY Velar D200 Edition.
It’s more than adequate in terms of performance. No SVR admittedly but in Dynamic mode it picks up its skirts well enough for A Road overtakes and it’s fine on motorways. It’s really rather pleasant.
Much better than my D180 MHEV Disco Sport and the two previous non-MHEV Sports, which had a horrible lag between pressing the accelerator and moving.
Fuel consumption isn’t bad. I’ve had 50.1 MPG on a 50MPH speed limit motorway rum. The daily drive, just over 30 miles of rural B and A roads, dual carriageway and maybe 3 miles of urban rush hour stop start gets me 40-plus.
