RRS keyless entry
Discussion
I've finally taken the plunge and invested a stupid amount of money with a main dealer in an early 2018 RRS. I've had an RRS before so I know how keyless entry works (hand in the back door handle etc.), but it seems I have to have the key right up close to the car before it triggers. I might as well use the unlock button on the remote once I've fished around in my pocket to get the key close enough.
The lock/unlock range using the remote also seems to be very short - again, I almost have to have the key right next to the car before I can lock or unlock it, or trigger the boot.
Finally, with the key in my jacket pocket and me sitting in the car, the car often complains that the key is in the wrong place or not even present so won't let me start the car until I've taken the key out of my pocket and waved it around.
I guess this comes down to a question of what the range of the remote should be? On my previous 2010 model everything worked as long as I was reasonably close to the car, but with this one it feels like the remote is very underpowered. I've tried both keys and they are both the same.
Any thoughts from other owners?
