Defender 130

Does anyone have any more information on the apparently upcoming Defender 130?

My dealer tells me launch dates are still just gossip and rumours but it seems it will happen, hopefully this year.

Some spy shots in likes of Autocar/AutoExpress and they say it will be spring/summer this year

Test mules out & about, spy shots are in the press, how much more info do you need?

A release date would be nice so I can plan for ordering

Until it's officially announced, it'll all be "gossip & rumour"...

They can't build enough 110s and 90s at the moment so would not be surprised if they slow down the pace for building the 130.

Maybe, but also if they announced a 130 it could mean that many 110 prospective purchasers would order a 130 instead, which in a way could lessen the queue for 110s

I could do with the xtra boot space over what my current 110 has no doubt many others could too

I do know and understand that but that doesn't really stop them from launching a new model - they are in midst of launching a new FFRR for example. Other manufacturers are also launching new models, one may still have to wait on delivery of said new models but at least they are being launched...

Landrover and my local dealer are desperate to sell me a new car, they are really keen to get my current 110 hee-haw else in their range - but we want a 130 ( takes boot space to similar with the D4 Landmark we had 4/5 years ago and lets the dug turn around easier ( he's a 93Kg St Bernard) The 110 isn't bad, better than a lot in fact but a 130 would be much better

Saw some more shots of the 130 being trailered up and down the motorway, people on that seemed to think the order book opens in May.

I saw a 130 in the metallic red the other week. It looked very nice. Bit long for our needs though. Our 110 is a good fit.

Heard from dealer earlier in week that my Defender 130 is now in build, so hopefully getting it in November - woohoo

5.35 metres long. Cripes. I find the 110 long enough. The 110 boot space is lacking, mainly because the rear seats have a daft amount of legroom. I’d need a driver for the 130.

Full marks though for anyone getting one.
