Hi all,

Did a timing belt change on my 2013 FL2 2.2 and in the final moments tightened the ignition switch cable connection on the starter motor too much and broke it, see the photos please. Is there any solution to this or the motor needs replacing? Are those 2 metal bits broken or actually connected via the black plastic mould?

New starter motor required.
The black plastic is the insulating sheath for the crank request stud.
Doesn't need to be "tight" - fingertip pressure on a 1/4" drive bar is sufficient.

If you can find a starter motor/alternator reconditioning company near you they MIGHT be able to rebuild yours.
