A nice LR3 2008 has come up cheap, 240,000 miles though, and the £500 odd tax that comes with it
not sure what to do, I’ve always liked the 3 + 4, especially in the right trim, but just how bad is the reliability on these, and should I expect anything major with that sort of mileage?

Discovery 3s aren’t known for their reliability, however like most cars how it’s been looked after will have a big impact on how long it lasts. Has it done 240k miles with one owner and a full LR history, or has it had 5+ owners and been run on a shoe string budget by the last few.
If you get a good one they are great cars. I guess if it’s mega cheap you might get your money back should it go catastrophically wrong..
