LR Extended Warranty or 3rd Party?
Discussion
My wife's MY68 (reg feb 2019) Evoque dynamic HSE is due to run out of manufacturer warranty and we've had the letter from LR regarding taking out extended warranty. I always take out warranty on my vehicles, and I know with my BMW I always take out the BMW extended warranty as it's very comprehensive and on the whole better than 3rd party offerings, is this the same for the LR extended warranties or are we better to take out a 3rd party one?
I used Jaguar's extended warranty for two consecutive S Types over a 11 yeas period and made several extensive claims (eg 3 replacement gear
boxes), never any issues.
I have had a LR DS for the past 5 years and I extended the LR warranty when it expired at the end of 2018. Not yet had to make a claim so I have no experience of this extension. Recently had a yellow gearbox fault warning. Stopped the car, waited 10 minutes, started after a system reboot presumably, car was fine, so an electrical /system issue rather than mechanical probably. Took the car to local LR indy to have the codes read and one code indicated gearbox replacement! Still no return of the warning so all seems OK after 2000 miles or so. Maybe 2022 will be the year I will need to test LR's extended warranty.

Thanks, exactly whey I'd never run a car of decent value without warranty boxes), never any issues.

Never had a 3rd party extended warranty but can vouch that from my experience the LR one is as hassle free as claiming under the normal warranty (so dealer dependent!!)
Not had any big claims but the ones I have had weren't any issue, and from what I remember the exclusions are pretty clearly communicated in the warranty documentation
