Discovery Sport - New Engine Required - WWYD?

Morning,

Good friend of mine's 65' plate disco sport suffered a catastrophic engine failure earlier in the year.

Car is currently at his property, engineless.

I'm trying to work out what's the best course of action for him as he's looking to sell and has replaced the car already.

Should he source and fit new engine + sell on or are their certain outlets which would take the car off him 'as is' and then we can work out if it's worth the stress of doing or not?

Any advice gratefully received.
