Parents have just got their build slot in November for a new L405 SVA after putting the order in a few months back
At the same time they also got the invite for a preview of the new car next month. I’m guessing by the defender timescale it means that the new model will be 6-8 months after that.
They’re happy with going for the last of the old model, the first year of a new JLR product is usually worth treating with suspicion

I’ve a good friend who has one of the first new shape Discoveries when the were launched...it was ultimately swapped for another about 6 months after launch given the poor build quality/inability to fix the repetitive problems. I’d agree with others that new models can be a bit hit & miss.

To be honest I think JLR products tend to be best once they’ve had a mid-life facelift. The ones I’ve had towards the end of the life cycle have been infinitely better than the ones that are within a couple of years of initial release. Crumpet said:
