Potential Defender 90 purchase

After a bit of advice please. Looking to purchase a Defender 90 and wanted to understand whether I would be purchasing over the list price for a nearly new model - given the current situation with the car market? .. or would it be better to put a new order in? I understand that there is a minimum 6 month waiting list on a new Defender, which is off putting.

My understanding is that LR have stopped taking orders on the defender as they have a large backlog, like most manufacturers they have issues in the supply chain and the Defender model has been very popular globally. If you want a nearly new one I think you would have to pay overs, if your ordering now I would be very surprised if you see it within 6 months.

I had been told last week that new 90's were almost a year away, you can order now with a refundable deposit. The 110 variant was around 9 months wait for new.

Thanks. My son works at JLR, hence why ordering new was a possibility. There seems to be a few nearly used out there.
