Late type door tops (101" / early 110")
Discussion
I have them on my 90, i was lucky to pick a pair up in desert camo paint, with tabs for window covers, there was a crack on the alloy on the lower outer, where squaddies shut the door using the door top and not the door. I had a friend weld it up, where he discovered he had to use magnesium rod, as the usual alloy tig rod weld cracked when cooled. Painted satin black, they’re fab, though i will get some new glass made for them, as they’re scratched from squaddie desert abuse.
I think you could pick some up from Rocky Mountain or Rovers North in the States. They fetch a big premium here in the UK, ranging from £200-400!

They are for this, biggest problem in warmer weather is lack of fresh air flow into the cabin because there are no vents below the windscreen.. Also the engine is mounted 10" further back which makes the footwells quite warm. I am hoping that the ability to open the front glass of the door tops will help ventilate the footwells and windscreen area.

Very, very nice! I’ve had quite a few coil comp & trials motors, 80, 88 and 100”, QT, Bowler and ex Pete and Ian Roberts motors.
Thank you, I built it in 1998 and it's done circa 100,000 miles since. Ventilation is one area I need to put effort into to improve demisting as well as comfort.JustGREENI said:
