FWIW - I use NFU, very happy with their service and have been with them for over 20yrs.

I have used Admiral and Classic Line for my 2012 90 as part of a multi car policy. It’s the most expensive of the cars I have to insure, and neither companies would do agreed value. Will watch with interest as a better option may come up on here.

I've used Brentacre (they're brokers, based in Swansea) for many years, and for a variety of vehicles (dull & boring, modified, high performance, modern classic with agreed valuation), they always come up with good prices, service has always been first rate too

A Plan’s Thatcham office are their specialist Defender people. I deal direct with them over the phone. They are friendly, the price is always good and accommodating modifications is no hassle.

I renewed recently and they were good still. Might have just been a bad day. NFU won’t even quote me based on postcode.

I’ve used Admiral for many years for my car with no problems but got the best deal on my wife’s car with direct line. DL don’t deal with anything modified.
I would have recommended Admiral, but I also had a flat insured with them. When I wanted to let it, they just said no, is it currently empty, yes, your insurance is terminated. No notice, no time to find an alternative. Completely unhelpful .
