Sat nav half a mile out
Discussion
Minor problem I know but since yesterday the sat nav on my 2007 Range Rover sport HSE is around half a mile out ie the arrow is a few streets away from where i actually am. Also gps light in top corner has red line through it. Have i accidentally switched something off while cleaning?
It sounds like the GPS aerial has failed. I have had this on a different make of car. If you can get into the head unit menus to see how many satellites the car can "see", do so. It should be 5 or 6. If it's one or two, then chances are the aerial may be dying/dead.
If it is that, the fix can be easy, though I can't speak to a LR. Get the head unit out, unplug the aerial lead, plug in a new one (sourced from somewhere like ebay) and use a sticky tab to place the new one inside the dash close to the windscreen. It should work fine from there.
Good luck.
