L322 or L405, Best Buy?

I am looking at getting either a L322 or L405 but will most likely only keep it for a year or so.
I see I can get a nice low mileage TDV8 or S/C for high teens or a high mileage SDV8 for low 20’s. Having owned both before a don’t really have a preference as they both have pro’s and cons.
Last of a model tend to be fairly reliable (relatively speaking). New model cars can come with teething issues (not from my own experience mind).
What is the general consensus of which would lose less value over the next year? I think it is probably better to pay a few k more now and get the newer model rather then buy the older model. Then when time comes to move on the cost of ownership will be cheaper with the Lxxx model?
