Hi, sorry if this has been covered before.

My seats and door mirrors stopped working after the car had been parked for a couple of months awaiting a replacement engine.

I have removed the seat EUC and replaced the battery and cleaned up the circuit board, no obvious damage, reinstalled it entered the test code green button x5 and 2112, the good news is the mirrors now work, the bad news is the seat doesn't move but the seat switches move the door mirrors, could i have got one of the plug connectors the wrong way around?

I'm more curious about what happened to the engine.

Update, check the plug connectors against a photo from a friend all connectors on correctly.

With regards to the engine 300Tdi, had issues off and on with overheating when towing car trailer, that resulted in a warped head and all seemed ok for about a year after replacement, but on a trip to the Lakes in October it overheated again going over hardknots pass (1 in 3 gradient) let cool seemed fined on the way home over the A66 out of Brough overheated again and I called out the AA who relayed it back to Sussex, another knackered head so pressed the nuclear button !! new remanufactured Turner Engineering engine, new AMC gas flowed head, all hoses, water pump, thermostat, temp sensor for head, new ejector pipe/diaphragm (goes under header tank) new radiator, flushed the heater matrix, temp now rock steady and heater like a furnace (getting the air out is an art form) just done 500 miles and replaced running oil and filter.

Well at least the mirrors are working now!!

Lets see if Sussex gets snow tomorrow, not had anything other than a few flakes down here for 5 years or so.

Seat controls operating the mirrors is a common problem and means the board is damaged. I had mine repaired as it was completely inoperative.

I've got an ecu that does that too. Clearly something somewhere awry. It's going to take a few hours with someone who knows their way around a pcb to find it I imagine.

But what is this test code? I've always just plugged the ecu in and it all works (or doesn't)
