Just picked up an Evoque, does it have a fault & questions?
Discussion
We've just picked up a 2018 model Evoque HSE Dynamic Si4 and had a weird thing happen, we stopped to fill up with petrol and when I got back in the car there was no sound from the stereo and when we pulled onto the drive the parking sensor beeping/alarm was not working. I turned the car on and off and there was still no sound, went through all the settings and still no sound, checked to see I'd not accidentally muted something and I hadn't. As a last resort I got out of the car locked it and then unlocked it and then we had sound back for both the stereo and parking sensors, does this suggest there may be a fault?
Also, we haven't got an owners manual so I have a few questions if people wouldn't mind answering them if they can please?
1) What is the tyre pressures for 245/45/20 tyres for normal loads, the door sill only shows the pressures for fully loaded and for the normal it says refer to the owners manual?
2) I've been through an option to try and find settings for daytime running lights and can't find one, is there and option for this or do they automatically have daytime running lights that can't be turned off (not that I'd want to)?
3) Can you change the volume of the parking sensors as they're very quiet?
Any help would be appreciated.

There are online owner manuals available at https://www.ownerinfo.landrover.com
Parking sensor volume - turn the volume knob when the sensors are sounding to increase the volume
Daytime running lights - no option to control these as they are a legal requirement

Should you have a service book too or is that all online now?

Ours did that exact same thing with stereo and parking sensors.
Took it to the dealer for a “software upgrade” and it hasn’t happened since.
Wait till the car stops recognising the keys and you can’t lock/unlock it...
Don't say that How do you 'fix' that then if it happens?Took it to the dealer for a “software upgrade” and it hasn’t happened since.

Re the software update, I thought I saw an option in the settings for a software update, can I do this myself?

We tried to use certain online features today but it says we need to subscribe and get a SIM card. How does this all work, do you need any old SIM card and then subscribe to the features via Land Rover, or do we need a SIM with a data plan on and then the features on the Evoque will all work as long as there's data left on the data plan?

Called Land Rover Assist. Re the software update, I thought I saw an option in the settings for a software update, can I do this myself?
You can still get into the car with the actual key, but the alarm goes off and you can’t turn the tt thing off.
That required the keys to be reconnected to the car which the LR Assist man did.

Sorry to hear the audio issue came back. Hope the Retailer sorts it for you. For the connected services yes you need a SIM with data - you then get live traffic, weather, fuel prices etc. The SIM slot is in the centre cubby.
I used to buy a Three SIM which had 20GB data on it, valid for 12 months and cost c. £20 I think. The system then changed so that cars were supplied with a UBIGI branded SIM which gave data each month for 36 months. If you are intending doing lots of music streaming over the air, some sort of SIM data plan might be better for you.

Yes it was from an approved dealer, I just hope it's not going to be one of those "it doesn't fault for us so we can't find it" kind of things For the connected services yes you need a SIM with data - you then get live traffic, weather, fuel prices etc. The SIM slot is in the centre cubby.

The car has one of those UBIGI sims but it doesn't appear to have any data despite the car only being 2 years old. We don't intend to stream anything, just want live traffic and access to the incontrol apps and remote climate etc. Would 20GB last a year for this kind of thing?

Do you get any of the conectivity symbols shown here? https://www.ownerinfo.landrover.com/document/LH/20...The car has one of those UBIGI sims but it doesn't appear to have any data despite the car only being 2 years old. If not, check that you have Connectivity enabled
There is a menu choice somewhere that gives you the current data usage (can't remember where and my current car has our new Pivi Pro infortianment so works very differently)
The 20Gb SIM was plenty for me just using the live features and not streaming.

Yes we do, but I thought that was just showing the signal of the phone connected (like on my X5) If not, check that you have Connectivity enabled

At the moment we can't use the incontrol app as it's still assigned to the old owner so maybe it's something to do with that. The dealer is going to sort that out tomorrow so I'll try again then
