Kickplates and scratches

These were in this state when I bought the car ;0( (the centre section lights up of a night) any tips on what to use to clean them up, get some of the scratches out? Alloy outer, no idea what the bit where the letters are is, I‘m thinking plastic??

IMO those have had it. Scrapes look too deep...how the fk they managed to do that much damage is another matter! Have you checked the price for replacement covvers? Sometimes I have been pleasantly surprised at part prices for my Jag.

Terrible aren’t they Shame as the rest of the car is spot on!
Previous owner was registered to a lady and I’ve a feeling she used these to get in and out on.
L405 - so these are illuminated of a night and come in at about £350-£400 so was hoping someone would offer a fix/paint option, at half that.
But as you say... pretty rough, so maybe a non-starter.
