I’m considering the purchase of a new Defender at the end of January (the PHEV version) - interested to hear what discounts are available (if any)

Cheers

I have just placed order for new 6 cylinder model for March delivery, with some nice extras.
S model 200 hp , £3000 discount with vehicle under £50,000 , with No insurance add ons, most dealers wouldn’t give 1 penny off.my discount is about 6% off. I think the S model is the best way to go , as more you spend the more you lose.

Gone for a 400E PHEV too - negative ghost rider on discount - in fact - LR seemed almost Porsche like in their price hold.
Looking forward to it tho...

I agree, the Land Rover garages are getting like Porsche garages with their attitude, but it is nice to know, they are looking after the residual value of the Brand, but in this climate we are all in at the moment, vehicle sales are not good, so a deal is always possible.
Garages still have to sale their quoter to reach their targets and this is why they have to Pre register vehicles to get their bonuses on sold vehicles.

Thanks - appreciated.

Did you, ‘shop around’ (in pursuit of any savings) or just rock up to the local LR dealer and plonk the order in? Only asking as I’ve no recent experience of main dealers/new cars. That coupled with this being a new model and the bl**dy virus makes for an interesting set of market dynamics.

Was after a PHEV back in October and nothing floated my boat (Porsche, RR) as too 'posh' inside - I needed something that could take abuse. I had asked LR if they knew anything about Defender producing one - they didn't then dealer called me later in Oct saying they had surprise news on the 400E coming out in Q1 2021. Ordered straight away as was connected to a company car thing I was planning anyway - max discount I got by phoning around in 4 dealers across the UK was £1K. Which really made no difference as the dealer that offered the discount was over 400 miles from me. So opted for local dealer for convenience. Be careful on the configurator tho - danger!

we're also looking at the new defender, it will be a workhorse and base spec. For the 110, the P300 is £48,695, the D200 is £45,315. Prices for the same base 90 are P300 £43,625 and the D200 at £44,260. Is there something different between the engines? I can't see what's causing the petrol 110 to cost £3000 more in 110 guise.

It's got two doors and longer. Thus all the extra metal, cloth/leather, glass and electric window winders to pay for.

Seems a bargain compared to the charges for other options on the configurator.

I'm sure I saw that the tow bar is almost a grand yikes

I get the extra doors and leccy bits but the D200 only increases by £1000 or so, petrol exhaust pipe must be really expensive

Drive the Deal offer this vehicle - very worthwhile getting a comparison quote from them also if its a non trade-in purchase.

What's the base model price on the PHEV? I've been all the way through the configurator, got to the end and still can't see it listed anywhere!

The 90 D200 is not available as a base 'Defender' spec - the lowest 90 D200 spec available is 'S', hence the difference in pricing.

The entry price for P400e (PHEV) is £64,800 on the road. This buys you the 110 X-Dynamic S.

You can download the brochure and price lists (separate one for Hard Top) here: https://lrdxforms.landrover.com/lr-gb-en/servlet/S...

So happy to report that deposit was paid today and in getting a couple of dealers on the phone I managed to reduce the cost from £72,978 to £70k dead. So there is still some wiggle room they have to play with.
