PVC Hoods

The canvas hood on my 90 Pick-Up is in need of a good clean and reproofing. I'm just not going to have the time and weather to do it for a while.
I was thinking of buying a new PVC hood form the well-known purveyor of Land Rover trims and hoods.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of PVC hoods. Are they as durable as claimed? Do they look right etc? Any opinions.

Military trucks have them.
Much harder wearing but can look a bit cheap and get very stuffy.

Decided on a new canvas hood instead. I did not really like then look of the PVC version and considerably more expensive.
