21MY Evoque order hold up?

My niece lives and works in Lancashire and back in July paid a £249 deposit to reserve a 2021 Evoque SE p300e. Originally the car was supposed to be handed over in October but last Friday the dealer said they were "still waiting for a build slot". I'd previously cautioned against anything based on brand-new tech (particularly from JLR) but she's in love with it and her heart is set. Plenty of rumours going round about emissions (again...) and/or the impact of the Brexit negotiations. Anybody connected with the company know what the problems migbt be this time?

PHEV orders looking dodgy - I had one ordered in June that was due this week and it has all gone quiet. I think there must be some manufacturing delay or hold up due to COVID. As you state also cannot rule out anything to with the fact the emissions and the fact the car is nowhere near as clean to run as they state!

We’ve been mithering our dealer since the PHEV announcement back 18 months ago, and got our order & deposit in the day they were ‘official’ in April.
After a number of ‘it’ll be next week or so’ it arrived at the dealers last Friday - and today is collection day!
This will be my wife’s 4th Evoque,
Just hope it lives up to our expectations

For what its worth the wife had a 1st edition Evoque and after 6 months of ownership there were NUMEROUS rattles inside and out.

It went back to the dealer a few times to get sorted and they even changed the swivelling top sat nav screen as that had a rattle too! But the rattles would just not stop!

At first I thought she is just being overtly fussy but after a long trip to bham and back from London I sold the car the next day to a highest dealer Bid. Horrendous build quality! Extremely pleased to be out of it and into a solidly built BMW X5 45e Hybrid!!
