Hi,
Due to under use during the current climate our 2019 Evoque HSE SD4 keeps bringing up the Low Battery Light. Can anyone recommend a decent battery conditioner. I use CTEK on the TVR and it works well but its an older model so does not work with Stop/Start batteries.

This is a common problem. Best evidence of a low battery aside from the warning light is that the tailgate either does not move or does so very slowly. I think LR has issued a general advisory that owners should give their vehicle a 30 minute run each week to maintain the battery capability level.

I have a DS and had this problem a few months ago when the lockdown was in place. I found an excellent YouTube item about this very problem. I got myself a Ring Smart Battery Charger RSC404 on the advice of a near neighbour's son who sells car batteries etc. Worked very well. You need to make sure that the charger you get is OK for vehicles that have the auto stop/start procedure, if fitted.

My next door neighbour has a DS and he too experienced this problem. He resolved it by getting the same charger as me.

Since the lockdown was eased, I've been out and about a bit and the low battery warning has disappeared.

And for the record, my wife's Ford Fiesta had exactly the same problem ..and had the same cure!

Here's a link to the YouTube item I referred to in my earlier post. You'll find it after the ads!

The CTEK MXS 5.0 is the gold standard in my view. Has both Wet and AGM modes, a recondition function and auto temperature compensation, all for £66 (Amazon). I've been using this and an older variant for years (on a TVR as it happens), would highly recommend.

Thanks for the replies. I am going with the CTEK as I am already familiar with their models.
