L322 DAB radio sounds like daleks underwater

2010 L322 DAB radio sounds like daleks underwater.
FM fine.
TV fine.

I thought that DAB being digital meant you either had a signal or not, it never says No Signal but stays permanently distorted.

This has only happened in the last month following new battery and alternator.

Is there a DAB module. What has worn out/broken?
Any advice please?

DAB is notorious for the 'bubbling mud' effect at low signal levels. Might be worth checking your aerial connection.
