RRS SVR 2021 model year changes, what and when?
Discussion
Hi,
I'm just about to order and RRS SVR. I know the RRS was face lifted 2 years ago so I'm not expecting big changes but do LR often make other minor changes to each model year? I see that the new defender has a seemingly much improved infotainment system, any chance that this would be adopted to the RR? I guess it's more likely to come when the RRFF and RRS are replaced in the next two years.
If there are changes, what week of production typically switches to the new model year?
Thanks

From what i've experienced its January. They will stop taking orders on the current year model around Sept time.I'm just about to order and RRS SVR. Atleast that;s what happened for us. I ordered a new Sport in August 2017. A few months later I was then told it would be the first of the (currrent) facelift but they had no idea on spec at the time. November time i believe i had the official options list to tick a few boxes, and Feb 2018 my Facelift RRS Autobiog was delivered. (I rejected the car a few months later due to so many faults and poor dealer resolution. They came through though and ordered me a brand new replacement car which came June 2019!)
i'd hazard a guess that the defenders infotainment would be implemented - i.e the software. just looks like an updated version of the current JLR infotainment. Mine was an early facelift so bizarrely it doesnt have Apple Carplay, but i know the current ones do. There'll likely be a host of additional exterior and interior colour options. I noticed that they like dropping colours from the spec sheets some years and introducing them for another year. Or, some colours were no cost options are then cost options.. quite strange how they do it unless im missing the reasons for doing so.
Thanks.
Re the first question. I picked one up (an SVR) for £1k a month with nothing down for 36 months with 8k miles a year. I thought this was decent value for a £100k car. I placed a few extras on top.
I’ve gone ahead and ordered and the arrival date with the dealer is 4th October so too early for any MY change. A shame if the software is overhauled given that the existing set up is a little sluggish.
Quick question as you have a RRS..... is there the ability to connect your phone and it’s media capability via USB rather than Bluetooth to improve the sound quality?
Many thanks

That seems really good, i've been running quotes on a used 2018 £83k and its coming out around £14k in and £1150 pm. What dealership were they offering this? ThanksRe the first question.
