Discovery Sport PHEV Production?
Discussion
Can anyone shed any light on Land Rover production capacity / productivity at the moment?
I placed an order around a month ago for an Evoque PHEV and a Discovery Sport PHEV. I've been told that the Evoque has a build slot of late September, but that LR are not even accepting orders for the Discovery Sport PHEV - Evidently it's gone into a 'holding pool' which sounds as damp as the answer.
Wondering whether to keep the faith or jump out and get something else...
Thanks,
Linkin (at the back of the queue for patience)
Similar boat - we ordered an Evoque the day they announced it and have been frustrated at the lack of forthcoming info.
I called the supplying dealership yesterday, and apparently they are not going to start building customers cars until the start of September and ours is due around the 18th! We will see

Hey mate, think we spoke in the EV thread. I still have a date of October 10th for my anticipated delivery date for the Disco Sport PHEV. I ordered in June and I don't even feel that is realistic. Will keep this thread posted because it shows the average build time with COVID slowdown etc.
FYI Opening Poster
I still have not got mine which was meant to be delivered today and hear delays till December - also my broker is pretty much silent on this. There is MY2021 version of the car and I saw on DiscoSportForum that they never even built as MY2020.5 PHEV's as that is the model we would ordered. Beyond the delays (which realistically will be December) what is also interesting is if we get a newer car what will be the difference in cost to the deals we have agreed. See thread here for more:

Hi jgrewal,
Update from my side is that my Evoque PHEV order should have been released from the factory on 2nd October, and the DSport PHEV was scheduled for build later this week (16th October)
I've heard nothing on the Evoque PHEV delivery since, and i'm chasing my dealer. (Ordered through Franchise)
I'll come back with any updates...

Seems like JLR are keen not to be shipping vehicles with misleading efficiency....
There's been a news embargo from JLR regarding WLTP figures for PHEV models.
LR are only producing 'Test Energy High' models, which i believe are SE ++
Knock-on effect is that they are reducing WLTP MPG and anticipated EV-Only mileage estimates which will have a negative impact on BIK costs.
My Evoque order (R-Dynamic SE with options) is built but was held in WIP and is now being released, so i should see it within a couple of weeks.
No idea about my Discovery Sport order yet (again, R-Dynamic SE with options)

There is some kind of problem with the emissions (CO2) declarations for the PHEV. Someone on the owner forums suggests that they are going to downgrade the battery EV range. Apparently vehicle handovers have been suspended pending a resolution. Currently you can't order the p300e PHEV versions. Since yesterday the configurator pops up the following notice for Discovery Sport and Evoque:

Wow! You have patience of a saint! I read there is a shortage of PHEV parts maybe that's the the hold up?
I'm quite relaxed about it now that I don't have anywhere to drive to. In the olden days I would have been furious, but adding to society's anger based on delays to the delivery of a new RRS seems a bit unnecessary.Nano2nd said:
did you order a special colour? I ordered mine end of July and i'm picking it up Thursday
No. Just one of their popular standard colours, Firenze Red. I don't think it is going to be long before mine is delivered. Have a wonderful Thursday! It's interesting that the current delay is connected with emissions regulations, just like in 2015 when there was a 2 month wait while JLR fixed something on the first EU6b diesels immediately after the first VW dieselgate announcement on Friday,18th Sept 2015. JLR stopped deliveries of the DS and Evoque diesels the very same week-end and then announced "we don't use diesel cheat devices". Of course not. https://www.expressandstar.com/news/business/2015/...
There was a lengthy exchange recently on the discosport forum about whether or not JLR's website was compying with the regulations governing emissions statements. It appeared prima facie that it wasn't because figures for the "worst case" EV Range on the p300e were absent. The EU emissions regs state that the manufacturer must advertise figures for both maximum and minimum EV Range if the CO2 output range exceeds 4 g/km for the vehicles covered by a single type approval (on the p300e the range is 8 g/km, well over the threshold).
It's looks likely that JLR was driving that debate using a proxy forum member. The poster who had been arguing forcibly (but clearly wrongly) that JLR had complied fully with the EU emissions regulations went quiet on the subject at the same time as the company suddenly stopped taking orders and suspended vehicle deliveries.
This is probably not a co-incidence - it's like JLR had another one of its "Oh, shlt!" moments.
Follow the exchange from here as they discuss the EV range of the DS p300e versus the RAV4: https://www.discosportforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f...
Two days ago, adding fuel to the fire, the DT reported:
Jaguar Land Rover facing fines as it lags behind in pollution reduction

The dots are starting to join up.

Least someone will be getting what they asked for I slept on it last night and going to email the broker and talk about cancellation options. I’ll wait for 2021 and then if things are better order a 2021 model. I might even see how Mercedes do with getting the GLB to the market next year too? Looks like the Germans could be winning my custom again..
Just got an update from the dealer after I chased and stated some of what had been in the updates we had here. He confirmed that it’s definitely to do with the WLTP and CO2 banding on all p300 models Evoque and Discos cars.
He’s said this should be ironed out by 'next week' with the intention of all stock cars like mine (MY2020.5) to be booked in for delivery after that. I accepted what I was told - whether that timeline was realistic or believable is anyones guess.
