New JLR Straight Six Hybrid Diesel (Solved DPF issues?)
Discussion
You can now buy a RR or a RRS with an in-line six diesel motor

I wonder if these new engines have solved some of the design flaws of the previous SDV6 and TDV6 units, namely poor DPF regeneration leading to oil contamination. Plenty of other manufacturers don't have this issue (or at least not to the extent of LR), as I understand it the DPF was placed too far from the engine and not getting hot enough leading to regular active regeneration for many owners (including myself).
I really would like to buy a new RR and the D300 (ingenium based) RR is a healthy discount over the petrol models, would I just be landing myself back into the same problem. I see LR now has guidance on its website for petrol/diesel choices to help better advice customers, I feel they may just be covering their arse.
