Holiday / long journey advice
Discussion
Having swapped my Abarth 595 for a Range Rover Sport I I find myself with no idea if there’s anything to buy or fit to make a family holiday easier or more fun. Always before we just had to squeeze in with bags packed around everyone, and get where we were going as fast as we could, but we’ve a boot now, power sockets, a tow bar, and a car that can in theory go up and down mountains.
When I was little we had picnic trays that attached to the window, a roof rack, and umbrellas and wind breaks. Nowadays I could get an electric cool box, iPad holders, A barbecue, and any number of things in the back or on the roof, so is there any advice about what people do to have a bit of a long-journey adventure with two little children in the back?
Also, are there any moorland or forest (wide) green lanes in Northumberland that I can trundle a long legally to give my little boys a bit of a thrill at being “adventurers”?
Any other ideas? We’ve a great car, three weeks to enjoy it, and plenty of places to go?
