NEW Defender Commercial
Discussion
Hi, does anyone have any details or info on when the Defender Commercial will be launched or what we can expect? I did read something about "optional jump seat", I assume this is a 3rd pull down seat in the back? Toying with the idea of another pick-up, looked at a Discovery Commercial but a bit pricey and only 2 seats so wonder if it's worth holding off for the Defender
Cheers

Is the Defender commercial likely to be significantly cheaper? Have you had a look at the Ineos Grenadier? Still a way off launch, but looking to be superb.Cheers
I was really looking forward to the Hardtop Commercial being officially announced but so disappointed the 90 is only available with the 200hp engine. I wouldn't buy a 90 (200) so tried to convince myself to spec and order a 110 although It's not what I really want, and at the price it's coming out at I think I'm going to give it a miss. So, instead of buying one at launch I will probably sit back and see what comes of them in the Used car classifieds in a year or two. I do really like it though, but it'd have to be a 90 with at the very least the 250hp unit..

Same, the weakest engine and no air suspension means it’s not for me. Disappointing.
I would be amazed if LR don't offer the higher output engines at a later date. And I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see these discounted in a year or two. To me, for a commercial, they just don't stack up at this kind of money. LR is taking the piss with the option costs - for example, electric towbar on my cayenne was £850 whereas on the Def it's £1200! 22" wheels on one of the specs above was £5k+. It's a Defender not a RR. I'm happy to pay to play to an extent, and as much as I like the new Defender Hardtop, it doesn't make me want to spend premium money on a posh van.Phooey said:

You do not want 22" alloys on a defender...they are terrible for ride and tyre compliance on my Rangie, I often use 19’s with much bigger tyres on mine, it drives so much better. If they sold the 22’s cheaper than Rangie stuff people would buy them and not buy the bling Rangie ones.
That is actually a good point re 22's that I'd not really given much thought too. I've decided against a Defender for now anyway, and I've ended up taking delivery of a new Mercedes X-Class 350d whilst there was still some unregistered stock floating about (the X-Class is discontinued now). I'd of most probably put an order in for a Defender if the higher output engines had of been an option in the 90 and the price of some of the options had been a bit more sensible but as it is I'll sit this one out for now and keep an eye out for either a used one in a couple of years or if LR add the 250/300 engine.Gassing Station | Land Rover | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
