I'd like to remove the seat bases (which I believe are removable!) to get to the battery, but I'm not sure how it's done. Can anyone enlighten me?

The seats are held on by only 4 bolts so it might be easier just removing the whole seat?

Yes, that’s the backup plan...but if they just pull out then if might save me scraped knuckles.

Are they built on standard Defender seat bases?
If so, there are two horizontal pins, one poking out either side of the seat squab, that clip in to recesses in the seat frame.
Lift the base directly up to pop them out, then the seat squab should be able to slide forward to release two similar pins that poke aft from the trailing edge in the rear of the seat frame.
Can be very, very tight at first, even on normal seats.

I wasn’t going to say anything but yeah....why anyone who pays that for seats isn’t paying someone else to get to the battery is interesting.

I didn’t pay £3k for the seats; they came fitted when I bought it...those were just the only picture of similar seats I could find!

Anyway, turns out mine aren’t a removable base model...so four bolts later, my trickle charger connector is now installed. Hopefully now I’ll have no problems starting after the lockdown is lifted!
