Evoque / Discovery Sport deployable towbar retrofit
Discussion
Anyone retrofitted a deployable towbar in an Evoque or Disco Sport?
LR want £1500 just for the towbar and probably another £300 - 500 for loom and ecu.
Used units can be had for around £300.
Can't be that difficult to fit.
I've fitted towbars before so quite fancy having a go at this type.

Yes I think you can only get deployable towbars for non-spare DS.
Not sure about the Evoque.
Looks like a trip to my local friendly stealer for part numbers may be a good idea.
Then I just need to decide which car to buy!
Prefer the interior of the Evoque, but the size of the DS (and £1000 lower used price for same spec vehicle).

Old thread I know - but it depends if you mean deployable (press a button in the boot and it electrically deploys) or detachable (kept in the boot and plug it in yourself).
Deployable would mean various parts and wiring added and possibly an update to the car system to 'tell' it the towbar is there, which LR won't allow.
Various third party detachable towbars are available in addition to the LR dealer fit towbar, which one you can fit depends on spare wheel configuration.
