First post on LR forum so be nice guys

Looking at a second hand Evoque for Mrs Graze. She currently has. Cooper S which is great but she needs a slightly larger load space and likes the look of the Evoque

It would be the 177kw turbo petrol version and it would be good to know if the couple of negative reports I've heard are typical of what to expect or if they are generally solid cars

Looking at 2012 -2016 models with somewhere between 30,000 - 65,000km

Any help or advice appreciated

Have you looked at one? Particularly the load space? Way smaller than you might think, maybe bigger than a mini - I've never looked.

Yeah we've looked at them. Comfortable interiors and bigger than the mini so all good on that front. Have two friends who have diesels and have had electrical and other gremlins so was more wondering if that is typical or just an aberration

Had a new one on loan the other day whilst my car was being serviced. It was a base spec model, but I was very impressed with the quality. I agree that the boot space is tiny.

I’m in the same boat. The Boss has fallen for one of these but I am worried about the JRL reputation. I like the look of them for her but don’t really want something that will bankrupt me and spend half of it’s time off the road.

If she want an Evoke but the boot is insufficient size, have a look at a DS. Not quite the same feel of luxury inside but get a top spec model and it's reasonably similar.

I have a DS 2.2 SD4 HSE Luxury. Got it at 7000 miles, it was owned by LR so I assume it was a demonstrator/loan car etc., had it for three years. It is a very capable car in al respects, and very reliable (so far!). I have extended the warranty. Now done 34000 miles..

From what I've read, I'm glad I did not get a model with the ingeneum engine!

No plans to change this car but if there were I'd be thinking of getting a petrol version. Neighbour has just got a new one and it's a good ride.

2016 was a facelift year so some exterior styling updates and interior goodies . The 2.0 engine can have problems with oil dilution and probably needs an oil change more often than recommended. The 2.2 engine is bombproof but none from 2016 onwards.

Some reports of steering racks becoming detached due to the motor bolts sheering. Possibly from seaside areas with high salt content in the air. LR supposedly will cover it, even if out of warranty as it's a known fault and a re-call in Canada.

I'm currently looking for an Autobigraphy of 2015/2016 vintage so have been researching for a while. When I get there I'll be buying from a main dealer to get a proper warranty. I know LR have recently reduced their warranty from 2 years to 1 year but, I would hope to be able to negotiate an extra year into the deal.

I sometimes get lent these when the RR is in for a service.
They are like a Tardis in reverse - appearing quite sizeable but actually really small inside.
