Taking my wife’s car to France at the weekend, it’s done 5k and hasn’t asked for ad-blue.
When it asks what’s it say? Does it need it in 10miles or 500?
Should I top it up, should I take it with me or won’t it need any for miles yet?

I thought I was quite good with that sort of stuff, but I couldn’t find anything.

On modern Land Rovers you get an initial message then an amber warning then a final warning with it counting down in miles.

If you ignore all of them and it counts down to zero the engine won't restart after you turn it off.

If it runs empty you need a minimum amount of around 4 litres added before it'll allow you to start the engine again.

If I were you I'd just put 5 litres in before you go on your trip to be sure.

ps Just found the online handbook for the 2020 Evoque, if you search for DEF it'll have some info.

Last warning I had in my RRS for ad blue was at 1500 miles.

Well I didn’t top it up after reading horror stories of topping it up yourself.

It flashed up warning us about 1 hour from home saying we had 1500 miles left, we popped into the nearest dealer just outside stratford upon avon. They were very nice to us and had us back on the road in less than 10min.

So thank you Guy Salmon Land Rover Stratford Upon Avon! You looked after us without knowing us and without an appointment!

And if someone finds this thread looking for the same answer I was osinjak was correct, the warning is 1500 miles before.

Fortunately Adblue is now commonly available at petrol stations. MrsCs Disco Sport does about 5k miles between refills. I try not to let it drop below the 500 mile warning for peace of mind.

My BMW gives me both a mileage and how many litres needed. Always run it down to 100 miles or less as that gets it to 10 litres for a refill...saves it pouring back out the filler!!

MrsC thinks her DS fills itself up with Adblue hehe I have to keep a close eye on it. The LR products also count do in miles & how much to fill up & fortunately in 36k miles our car has been consistent in its consumption.

My wife’s DS does about 10-12k miles between fills which is included in service pack.

What year did they introduce adblue to the RRS?

Press the Start button but don't put foot on brake. Scroll through Vehicle Information. It will give you ad blu range remaining,

Just bongs when you turn it on, then just has a message on the dash, no drama.

Is there not a land rover app, like the jaguar remote app?

I've got the app linked to my E-pace and that gives me a range to empty for the adblue on one of the pages.

Yep landrover is the same function. Seems recent s19B software update has changed the warning to 750miles.
