Hi guys,
Rob here, new member.
Just bought a 2008 D3 and withing a week, I have the ride height warning light and message saying Normal Ride Height only.
I've done research and most point to getting codes read on an IID first to narrow down possibilities.
Anyone got one and wouldn't mind helping me sort this?
Problem is, (besides car fault !) I flew down from the West Highlands of Scotland to get this in a private sale and I am due to drive back on Weds the 4th, so a bit urgent.
Checked tyre pressures, rear bulbs okay, no obvious leak sounds and car drives fine.
The vendor did say he thought it was the original compressor so that's probably due change anyway.
Switching ride height settings to offroad gets a message saying something like compressor too slow pumping so it's pointing in that direction.
When I get home I can do a leak test of pipework and and look for damaged wires but up there I don't have any access to a code reader.
I have owned several Disco's, started with a 200 so don't mind getting stuck in and have always had loads of help and advice from the Landy community out there. My e is guinnessdiver at aol dot com so please feel free to contact me direct if you can help.
Hoping someone can help but appreciate it's very short notice.
Cheers
Rob

I posted this on the Disco forum, but will post again here....

When is this happening?

As soon as you start?

Crawling round town?

As you get to higher speeds?

Do you get HDC errors too?

The compressor may have a leak on the end cap, still enough pressure to get it from access mode to normal height but not enough to get it to off road height.

Best thing to to is put it in on road, normal, height and then leave it over night with the fuse pulled for the suspension.
See if any corners have actually dropped over night.
If they have you a leak somewhere.

However, the warning you are getting could be from something as simple as steering angle sensor needs calibrating.
Is the steering wheel straight?

If that is off centre slightly, maybe from a worn bush or something, the car can throw this error.

Do you get the "Special programmes not available" message at all?

Also what is the battery voltage?

Have you got a multimeter?

If you have the nav you can access the voltage in there.

You really need to be at least 12.35 volts when you start the car and it should be at 14.5 volts when it first starts running.
Dip below the 12.35 and you get these sorts of errors.
Be careful in the menu, it under reads slightly, if it says 12v from start probably fine, so don't panic.
