Weird number appears on bluetooth - any ideas?
Discussion
Strange thing happened this morning - my wife got into our D4 and the Bluetooth list of paired devices showed some unrecognised devices and phone numbers.
Googling them indicates that they are eastern European phone numbers.
Nobody other than myself and my wife have access to the car. Given all the stories about hacking and keyless entry theft etc, I am not sure whether to be concerned or if this is just a strange technical glitch.
I wondered if anyone else had experienced this or heard of this happening?
Our D4 does have keyless entry but we keep the keys in Faraday cases to try and avoid the risk of theft.

Yep, it wouldn't surprise me to find it was someone connecting remotely and having a poke around.
Does Bluetooth startup before the key is in the ignition?? If so, that would make for an interesting attack vector, as someone could give the door handle a tug, wake the onboard systems and then try to connect via Bluetooth.
Given the correct tools and enough time, you could probably dig a bit deeper but it's probably just easier to delete the pairing and move on.
