Defender depreciation
Discussion
My wife is keen to swap our family car for a defender, more of a romantic decision than a practical one, but having used them myself over 30 years of farming, I’m quite up for it!
Question is, we want something not too long in the tooth and without too many miles, but we also want one that will appreciate in time. Looking at the ads, there seems a massive variation in values for different ages. Of the later models, say post 2010, what is most desirable and has a better chance of holding value? We take the view that if practicality wins out and we decide we need a cheaper to run car, we can garage it use it rarely and allow it to appreciate (Assuming government policy on diesels doesn’t hit the desirability).
Would appreciate some views...... tia.
