Hi,

Looking at 2nd hand Land Rover Discovery 4 but my google skills seem to be falling short on...what’s the difference between HSE Luxury and the Landmark ?

Is it just that there was a greater choice of colours on the landmark?

Really appreciate any help on this one.

Try over at http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/my-discovery-4-vf47....

Lots of great advice there.

If you are looking at a late model (i.e. within year of they stopped making them), then I think the last run out were either Landmark or another line which I can't remember, but not HSE Lux.

I think the HSE Lux will have a slightly better kit list/trim etc than a standard Landmark. But with a few factory fitted extras, not sure there would be too much different. HSE Lux is pretty well kitted out as standard.

As above, disco4 forum is good source of info.

As far as I can remember the Landmark is available in fewer colours, maybe four including the orange/bronze colour. There are also rumours the Landmark just used up what parts were left so some had rear climate while some didn’t, but on the whole the spec was pretty much identical. Silver roof rails on the Landmark, which I’m not keen on.

Not sure if the HSE Lux is available with the ad-blu and my early 2015 version was the last without it.

They’re all still fetching strong money and my Lux is due to go back to the PCP company next month; no idea at all what I’ll replace it with as it is the perfect car for our needs and the D5 is just lacking in so many ways (my Dad has the D5 Lux and I just end up getting annoyed with it when I drive it).

We’ve had the HSE Lux from new, it’s our second disco 4, and before that’s we had the first Disco 3.

We still love ours, it’s four years old now, and don’t see any need to replace it as it’s the perfect work horse and very well equipped.

It’s also never had any major issues with it, it does get though brake pads though, and is on it’s second set of disks too.

We got the HSE Lux because of the spec, principally because it had the rear seat entertainment screen, with the White fire wireless headphone system, our kids love them, they get used on every decent journey.

Meridian sound system too, which I love.

I know someone else who has a landmark, I think the comment about them being not quite so well specced at the HSE LuX might be true, as there’s does not have rear seat entertainment.

Good luck in your search.

Hi all

I am looking to buy a Discovery 4 as I need a practical car and have always loved these. Looking for a sub 60k mileage one and as new as possible for c.£27k. I had my eye on a few HSE / HSE luxury ones that I liked but have just been reading about the Landmark edition. These are £2/£3k more but I am wondering if they are worth it. The main thing I have noticed on some adverts is that the infotainment / display appears to be slightly upgraded. Whilst this might not be worth all that extra money I will use this for the occasional long journey so an upgraded system might be better. A few years ago I had a 2017 Jag F Pace and the interface looks to be the same in the Landmark edition.

Would be interested in anyones thoughts

Thanks

Ben

We had a Disco4 Landmark from new in sept 2016 until, sept 2018.

It was kitted out extremely well including TV function which got, for us anyways extremely good signal wherever we were.
The dug thought it was great, plenty of space (more than our current defender 110) . My wife loved it.
Would I have another one? YES

Would I be worried about it going wrong? YES INDEED
