supercharged L322 - billowing white smoke on startup
Discussion
Well, only 4 days in to ownership and I'm beginning to have second thoughts!
I have an 05 supercharged with LPG conversion. Yesterday it started to produce billowing white smoke on start-up - and I mean "can't see out of the rear" sort of billowing - but when warm and on LPG seems fine. No funny noises from the engine, pulls well, no check engine light. Did it again this morning and it smelt strongly of petrol. Have booked it in to a specialist but that's not for another 4 weeks - they advised in the meantime to add a fuel additive to clean the injectors.
Is there anything else I should check?
I got a check engine light a few days before this and the code reader said running lean - so I took the engine cover off to check no pipes were loose/sucking in air but all seemed ok. Anyway, managed to forget to put the oil filler cap back on and that coincided with the billowing starting. Cap back on today and still the smoke though.
Any thoughts?
