So I am looking to get a van for my business, but I have seen these, they look much nicer than a van, don't have the security issues that a van has, and has better equipment. So has anyone got one, or owned one?

A very good, capable, confidence inspiring vehicle. I have a 2013 model. It doesn't carry much in the way of payload though (maybe 500kg?). Does about 30mpg. Very comfortable. Expensive to service at main dealer. Great for towing.

I had 2 and they were excellent. Payload is around 650kg. Tows very well, as you would expect. Far comfier than any other commercial IMHO. Benefits are the van rated road tax and BIK. Averaged around 28-30mpg in normal driving, 18-20 towing the wobble box.

As usual with any LR product you can get good and bad. Both of mine never let me down and only required normal servicing. I had bench seats fitted in the rear so could carry passenger in (relative) comfort.

They also hold their value very well.

That’s great. That payload sounds great as I will Only be carrying tools. Is there any major issues to lookout for?

I’ve noticed that after 2012/13 the tax is £250 compared to an older model. Do you know if it’s possible to get an extended warranty on these? I’m looking at ones from £12k to £18k.

Had one for work. Drove beautifully just like a luxury 4x4 unsurprisingly. Issues are the same as the car. It’s heavy eats bushes and brakes. Only used for towing 3.2 tons of trailer which it was great at although mpg suffered.

Fitted mine with a dog guard which created an area where the rear seats went that I shelved out for tools leaving the boot area for other things. There’s also good space behind the seats for hanging jackets or stuffing a lunch bag etc. Plus more room under the floor where the rear seat footwell is.
Only van specific issue is that the rear trim is left in place meaning if you throw things in or drive with them unrestrained you can damage it. It’s not like having a ply lined transit

We have one here, tows everyday and costs very little to maintain.
Doesn't owe us much now.
250K miles on an 11 plate
Still a lovely car to drive.

Made the same decisions and just got myself an 80k mile '65 plate SE. I looked for a while and found on that has been a pampered private use vehicle so its got all the nice-car options, the load bay isn't shot to pieces and it drives like it hasn't been flogged as a van for 3-4 years.

So far, near 1000 miles, fully checked out by local specialist who found nothing at all wrong with it. It's doing about 30mpg, which I'd expected although a fair bit less than the 47mpg average I had been getting from my '17 330d bmw. But, it has the same fabulous 8 speed zf autobox (which as a precaution for long life I just had flushed with new oil) and if I'm totally honest, is so far proving to be a nicer thing to punt about than the BMW was.

In truth, it'll get fairly light use for business with me too - mainly long trips around Scotland as I've an electric car for the majority of stuff I do. Handy to have a lugger though and pretty affordable option through the business.

Only issue is getting used to the blanked off rear windows. Acceptable as its a van with no rear seats, but sometimes a bit of a pain on oblique junctions.

My plastic blankings 'fell off'. The windows were tinted black anyway...
