So, after much deliberation i've decided on a RRS,
Facelift so 2012 on
DSC
Then anything else is nice, do fancy the fridge.

So seeing the RRS 2012 on I see the SDV6's with the rotary dial,
Now I'm also seeing 2012 and 2013 TDV6's, normally on Black Editions - still 3.0 not the old 2.7 - but thwy seem to advertise with the same BHP.

So what is the 2012/2013 TDV6

I opted for facelift as close to 30mpg on a run, 8 speed box works for me over the old TDV8, never considered the 2.7.

Had a few 3.0 SDV6 lined up, then a red 3.0 black edition pops up near to home but its a TDV6 - so what is it, what is the difference?

No one really knows.

From the Disco forum, people think, that a tdv6 is a pre 2010 car.
A Sdv6 should be 245 bhp, but then they upped it again to 255 in 2012 I think along with the rotary dial 8 speed box.

Some come with DPF and some don’t.

Land Rover were playing silly buggers at that time and no one seems to have an idea.

Basically, if it’s got the dial, it’s 255bhp and 8 speed and that’s likely what you want.

Thanks for that, its got the dial, will take her out and check for 8 speed.

Thinking this is somewhere between landrovers mysterious badging and a dealer not knowing the correct designation..... Somewhere in the middle lies the truth

All dials are 8 speed.

If it’s a lever it’s a 6 speed. Biggest telltale sign.

Otherwise, pick your colour and spec and go from there.

Make sure it’s been serviced, check all electrical bits and raise and lower the suspension a few times. A healthy air suspension compressor should run for 30 seconds and then turn off after start up.

Also. Get the gearbox oil megaflushed.
Keeps the box and torque converter healthy and happy.
