Discovery td5-Engine Management Light Ignition
Discussion
Whilst driving on the outskirts of Derby on Wednesday in my Discovery td5, the amber engine management light ignited several times, on each occasion cutting transmission power.
Each time transmission was cut, restarted turn of ignition key. Decided to drive back from Derby to Bristol without using motorway network, instead travelling via A38-A46.
Since Wednesday, again avoiding motorway network, no further ignition of the engine management light. As a precaution what action should i take, and/or what should i be checking for. thanks

First step, the simple one, check the tightness of both battery terminals and the earth lead. If they're loose, there is probably your smoking gun. Next step is a diagnostic scan with a decent reader, Nanocom, Hawkeye or similar to read the hopefully stored codes to give you an idea where the problem lies.
