RRS what size is your spare?
Discussion
Morning all, quick question if I may.
Car is fitted with 4 X 22" wheels, spare appears to be a 21" with different spoke pattern and according to main dealer should only be used in emergencies.
The actual diameter of the 22" and 21" are the same so can be fitted on the same axle according to my tyre centre.
Now I would have though that when you buy a new car, all the wheels including the spare would be the same size.
Anyone else come across this anomaly?

I think that the spare would have been an extra (it was on my FL2) it would be the same size as the other wheels.
I wonder if somebody bought the one on yours of an auction site?
Could be, but my thoughts are why the hell would you want to carry around a spare weighing approx 3/4 cwt when a space saver would be a third of the weight!I wonder if somebody bought the one on yours of an auction site?
When I bought my L322 (used) it was on 20s but when I checked in the boot the spare was much smaller, 18" iirc. I don't think it was the right diameter to be used. I used the salesman about it and he said that people often change the wheels but don't change the spare. I ended up with a wheel (and tyre) the same size but a different design. Never actually used it in the 7 years I had the car.
