Hi all - I'm having a brain fade/senior moment and I just need to sanity-check something.

If I remove the diff from a Discovery 1 rear axle (which I guess is pretty similar to a Defender axle), can I bolt the hub back on and put the car back on it's wheels so that it can be rolled? I've had them apart in the past but I just can't for the life of me picture it without actually going outside and getting dirty (and wet)!

Thanks.

Yes.
It's a fully-floating axle.
No need to remove the hubs to extract the differential; remove halfshafts (might need wheels off depending on wheel type). Remove propellor shaft then extract the differential.

I’ve driven home with no diff after blowing it on a play day.
